New Developments in Compliance Law

(This session will be held in English only.)

Governments are increasingly active in combating business practices recognised as wrong, including bribery and corruption and so-called modern slavery. In doing so they often extend their reach beyond their own borders to regulate nationals doing business elsewhere in the world, as well as foreign enterprises with a link to the country of the legislator. Often larger countries such as the USA and UK take the lead, and other countries follow with similar legislation. Businesses need to be aware of, and follow, the network of compliance obligations that surrounds them, especially by implementing policies and procedures that can protect them if a problem arises.

In this session, leading experts from the UK will discuss latest developments in the areas of bribery and corruption and modern slavery, as well the ever more important area of cybersecurity. KSB will comment on applicable Czech laws, including in respect of corporate criminal liability.

  • What is the law?
  • Does it apply to me?
  • How do I comply?
  • Are my current policies and procedures adequate?
  • What happens if I don’t comply?
  • Where can I find out more?
